The detail
Cut to catch the light.
The shade is faceted crystal-effect, its angles cut to break a warm bulb into clean bands of light rather than one flat glow. It sits on a slim metal backplate in gold or black, the kind of Art Deco line that reads considered from across the room and finely cut up close. Light on the wall, easy to live with.
After dark
It doesn’t just light the wall. It draws on it.
A faceted shade takes a plain warm bulb and scatters it into soft prismatic bands that fall across the plaster and the ceiling, shifting as the daylight goes. In satin gold the glow reads warm and golden. In matte black it reads graphic and quiet. Either way it is the difference between a hallway that is lit and one that feels finished.
In pairs
One finishes a wall. Two frame it.
At 14 cm wide, and 24 cm tall overall, it is slim enough to flank a mirror or a bedside, and present enough to line a corridor. Fit one where a wall feels bare. Fit the pair where you want symmetry, one either side of a bed, a mirror or a fireplace, spaced to match. It mounts to an existing wall point, so a pair goes up on the wires already there. Is it real crystal or acrylic?
The faceted shade is a crystal-effect acrylic, not cut glass, cut into clean angles so it scatters a warm bulb into soft prismatic bands. It is lighter than glass, which is kinder on a wall bracket and less anxious in the post, and it gives you the Art Deco look without the price or the weight of solid crystal.
Which bulb does it take?
A standard E27, the everyday screw-in kind, easy to find and replace, with no proprietary bulb to hunt down later. Fit a warm white one to keep the facets glowing softly.
Do I need an electrician?
No. It replaces an existing ceiling or wall fitting on the same wires, so there is no new wiring.
