Light at eye level

A wall light does something a ceiling fitting cannot: it lights a room from the side, at the height of a face rather than the top of a head. That is often what makes a hallway feel finished and a bedroom feel calm. Used in pairs, wall lights frame a mirror, a bed or a doorway and give a wall a reason to be looked at.

The range

The Crystal-Effect Cylinder Art Deco Wall Light uses a faceted crystal-effect acrylic shade on a metal backplate, in satin gold or matte black. The Halston Linen and Bronze Wall Light takes the opposite route, with textural oatmeal linen shades on a bronze-finish steel band, so the light is diffused rather than cut.

For something smaller and more graphic, the Colourful Nordic Up and Down Wall Light is painted iron and throws light in both directions along the wall. It comes in seven colourways. Alongside these sit the Nova LED Wall Light, a brushed aluminium body with an acrylic shade in four finishes, and the Black and Gold Bare Bulb Industrial Wall Light, an iron arm and backplate offered in four finishes.

Fitting and pairs

Each of these replaces an existing wall fitting on the same wires, so there is no new wiring to run. Each piece is sold individually, so a pair means ordering two. Every product page lists its dimensions in centimetres, with a measured diagram in the gallery, which is what settles the question in a narrow hallway.

Where to use them
