When headroom is short
Many British homes have ceilings around 2.4 metres, and many older terraces have less upstairs than down. A pendant that looks right in an image becomes something you walk into. Everything in this collection is a flush or semi-flush fitting, which means it sits against the plaster or drops only a few centimetres. Eight pieces are grouped here, from a 20 centimetre disc to a 120 centimetre linear capsule.
Flush, and still worth looking at
Sitting close to the ceiling does not mean disappearing. The Antique Brass Semi-Flush drops a little and uses a pressed glass shade with a brass lampholder and ceiling plate. The Curved Ribbon LED Ceiling Light is a hand-bent painted aluminium band with a soft silicone diffuser, closer to a line drawn on the ceiling than a fitting hung from it.
The Ivera Ultra-Thin LED Ceiling Light is a slim iron-framed capsule made in five lengths from 40 to 120 centimetres, which lets it follow a corridor rather than mark a single point. For a warmer surface, the Nordic Wood-Tone Ultra-Thin Flush uses a painted metal rim with a wood-tone accent and an acrylic diffuser, in a single 30 centimetre diameter.
The Quasso Flush Ceiling Light closes the range: aluminium and iron with an acrylic diffuser, in two sizes and two finishes.
Check the depth
The Ivera is 4 centimetres deep, the Quasso 4.5, and the Curved Ribbon 17 centimetres high. Every product page lists its dimensions in centimetres, with a measured diagram in the gallery. Each piece replaces an existing ceiling fitting on the same wires, so there is no new wiring to run.
