A small two-tier bowl, pleated all the way round like thrown ceramic, sitting close to the ceiling. Lit, the fluting catches soft shadows and the open base glows warm — a lantern for the rooms that usually get a bare bulb: the hallway, the landing, the box bedroom.

Will it fit? Ø 23 cm and 16 cm deep, so it suits snug spaces and 2.4 m ceilings. It replaces an existing ceiling fitting on the same wires, and it takes one standard E27 bulb — so if the light ever tires, you change a bulb, not the whole fitting.

Pleated Bowl Flush Ceiling Light

Made for the evening

It glows like a lantern, not a bulb.

The pleats do the work: light pools through the open base and grazes up the fluting, so the fitting itself becomes the warm object in the room. In a hallway it reads like something found in a Copenhagen studio — not a compromise light.

Before you buy

Questions, answered properly.

Do I need an electrician to fit it?

It replaces an existing ceiling fitting on the same wires, so most people put it up themselves. If you’re adding a light where there isn’t one, that’s a job for an electrician.

What bulb does it use?

A standard E27, the most common bulb fitting in British homes. Warm white suits it best, and because it’s an ordinary bulb you can pick the exact warmth you like and swap it whenever you want, rather than replacing the whole light.

Can I dim it?

Yes. Fit a dimmable LED bulb in the E27 socket and run it on a compatible dimmer switch, and it dims smoothly.

Is it ceramic?

It’s moulded resin with a soft, matte, ceramic-look pleated finish. The colour runs through the material rather than sitting on top, so it’s robust. It won’t chip the way glazed ceramic can.

Will it suit a low ceiling?

Yes. It sits close to the ceiling, is compatible with sloped ceilings, and is fine from a standard 2.4 m ceiling.

How big a space does it suit?

It’s deliberately compact at Ø 23 cm. One warms a hallway or a landing, and a run of two or three paces out a corridor beautifully. It suits rooms of 4–10 m².

When will it arrive?

It’s dispatched from us with free UK delivery, and usually arrives within 8–12 working days.
