Six slim arms leaning out from a central column, each ending in a brushed-brass lampholder, the mid-century sputnik done quietly. It holds a living room or a dining table on its own, and because it sits close to the ceiling it works in real British rooms, not just lofts.
Will it fit? The spread is 83 cm and the drop 33 cm, happiest from 2.5 m ceilings, or lower when hung over a table. It replaces an existing ceiling fitting on the same wires. Add six globe-style E27 bulbs (warm white looks best, bulbs not included) and it is lit the evening it goes up.

The six arms are not fixed. Each one turns on its joint, so you can fan them wide over a long table, draw them in for a hallway, or tilt a globe toward a favourite corner. You are not hanging a shape and hoping. You are setting it to the room you have.
After dark

A single ceiling light drops one hard pool onto the floor. Six globes do something kinder: they lift the light off a central column and let it settle evenly across the room, warm and unhurried. Over a dining table it is the piece guests notice first and ask about second.
Getting it up
Honest about the hour it takes.
It is a hardwired ceiling light, so it goes where your old one was, on the same wires and the same fixing point, with no new wiring. It does arrive as a few parts rather than one finished piece, which is normal for a sputnik and worth knowing before you begin.
- Turn the power off and take down the old fitting from its plate.
- Fix the new plate and match the live and neutral to your existing wires, and the earth if your fitting has an earth terminal.
- Fix the arms to the central body, then screw in your six globe-style E27 bulbs. Allow a relaxed hour, a little longer on your own.
There’s no printed leaflet in the box, so the steps above cover the fit. If you’re adding a light where there isn’t one already, that’s a job for an electrician.

Are the bulbs included?
No. Like most sputnik fittings it takes six E27 bulbs you choose yourself. We’d fit warm white for a soft evening light, and a round globe-style bulb (G95 or similar) suits the look best.
How much assembly is there?
Some. It arrives as a few parts and the arms fix to the central body, which is normal for a sputnik. Allow a relaxed hour, a little longer on your own.
Which bulbs should I choose?
Six E27 bulbs, up to 40W each, warm white for a cosy room. A round globe-style bulb suits the look best, and dimmable LED bulbs let you bring it down of an evening.
Won’t six bulbs be too bright?
Choose opal or frosted globe-style bulbs and they spread the light rather than glare, with no bare filament on show. Fit dimmable LED bulbs on a compatible dimmer and you can take it right down.
Can I dim it?
There’s no dimmer built in, but because it takes standard E27 bulbs you can fit dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, and it settles from bright dinner light to a low warm glow.
Will it fit over a table or under a lower ceiling?
It drops 33 cm, so it sits comfortably from 2.5 m ceilings and can hang a little lower over a dining table, which is where a sputnik looks its best. It spreads 83 cm and suits rooms of about 12 to 20 m².
Do I need an electrician to fit it?
It replaces an existing ceiling fitting on the same wires, so many people put it up themselves. There’s no printed leaflet in the box, so we’ve set the steps out on this page. If you’re adding a light where there isn’t one already, that’s a job for an electrician.
Will it look like the photos?
It’s photographed in the finish you order, with matte-black steel arms and brushed-brass lampholders. Choose black & gold, all black or all gold. With warm globe bulbs fitted, each lamp becomes a soft warm moon.
