One slim bar, one even band of light the length of the table. The Thala is a 100 cm aluminium profile finished with walnut-tone end caps, hung on two fine cables — by day a clean line above the table, by evening the only light the room needs.
Will it fit? At 100 cm it sits properly over a six-seat dining table or a kitchen island, in rooms of roughly 10–15 m². The drop adjusts up to 150 cm and is set at installation, so it hangs right even under a standard 2.4 m ceiling.

The Thala comes with a small remote, so the light bends to the evening rather than the other way around. Turn it up bright and neutral while the food is on the table, then bring it down warm and low once the plates are cleared. No getting up, no dimmer switch to wire in, no bulb to swap. You find the two or three settings you like and mostly leave it there.

A dining table is where the evening actually slows down, and it deserves more than a cold ceiling spot. The Thala runs one clean line of warm light straight down the middle of the table, so faces are lit, plates look good, and the rest of the room falls away into the dark. It is the piece a guest looks up at and asks about before the starters are cleared.

At 100 cm the Thala is built to sit along a table for six, not to hover like a single small pendant. As a rule the bar wants to be about half to two thirds the length of your table, centred over it, with the base hanging roughly 60 to 75 cm above the top so it lights the surface without sitting in anyone’s eyeline. The two cords drop from a single ceiling plate and trim to length at fitting, so it settles level on any ceiling from 2.4 m.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, and it never needs one. The LED is built into the bar, so there is nothing to buy, swap or hunt for. It simply lights up when you switch it on.
Can I dim it, and does it change colour?
Yes. It comes with a remote that brings the brightness up and down, and shifts the light from a warm tone for the evening to a neutral, brighter one for eating and cooking. It does not go fully dark at its lowest, but it drops low enough to sit and talk by, and there is no dimmer switch to wire into the wall.
How high should it hang over my table?
Aim for the bottom of the bar around 60 to 75 cm above the tabletop, centred along the length of the table. That lights the surface well and keeps it out of your eyeline when you are sitting down. The two cords trim to length when it is fitted, so it works on any ceiling from 2.4 m.
Is it long enough for my table?
At 100 cm it suits a table for about six. As a rule the bar looks best at roughly half to two thirds the length of the table, so it reads as one clean line down the middle rather than a small spot floating at one end.
How do I get it to hang level?
It drops on two adjustable cords. You set both to the same length and even them up so the bar sits straight, then tighten. It is worth doing with a second pair of hands and a spirit level, and it is the one part of the job to take your time over. Ten quiet minutes and it is done.
Do I need an electrician?
No new wiring is needed. It replaces an existing ceiling fitting using the wires already there. If you would rather not connect it yourself, any electrician will fit it in a few minutes.
Can I use it in a bathroom or over a kitchen sink?
No. It is made for dry indoor rooms like dining rooms, kitchens over a table or island, and living spaces. It is not rated for bathrooms or anywhere it would meet steam or splashes.
What happens if part of the LED fails?
Because the LED is built in, you do not replace a bulb, you replace the piece. That is exactly what our 2-year guarantee is for: if the light fails in normal use, we send a replacement. Send us a photo and we sort it.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
We ship within the UK, with free delivery. We are a UK shop and returns come back to a UK address, not overseas. A 100 cm bar is packed with corner protection to travel safely.
